COVID-19: Keeping You Safe

At Best Friends, we’re always working hard to keep our visitors, staff members and volunteers healthy and safe. We can’t save the animals without safe humans!

We’re open, and Best Friends is a great place to visit, even in the time of COVID-19. The Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile has contactless check-in, as well as open-air entries, passageways and common areas. All guest areas and rooms are disinfected before check-in. Our heating units are self-contained within each room and suite, and our suites have kitchenettes for guests who want to prepare their own meals.

Every day, our staff are working hard to make sure that you stay safe while you’re with us. Here are the precautions we’re taking:

  • We regularly clean and disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas. We're cleaning pens and wiping down door handles. Public bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized multiple times a day. We've rolled out touchless hand sanitizer dispensers and touchless water-bottle refill stations.

  • We comply with state and local government guidelines and recommendations from the CDC and the medical community. We're managing access to some indoor spaces and high-traffic areas, making sure there aren't too many people in a confined space. We're also abiding by stay-at-home orders.

  • We enforce guidelines on masks and social distancing. That means everyone stays a leash-length away (that's six feet for you humans) from people who don't live in their household. And we ask that everyone — visitors, staff and volunteers alike — covers their mouth and nose with a mask.

If you have questions or concerns about our guidelines, please talk to the nearest staff member.

Although we are all going through an unprecedented time, we can and will come together to keep each other safe as we continue to Save Them All. Thank you for your commitment to the animals, to those who care for them and to each other.
